Conventional cotton dyeing requires a large amount of salt to force anionic dyes into cotton fiber, which develop an anionic surface charge in water. Also, fiber-reactive dyeing needs soda ash for dye fixation. In addition, the highly colored dye bath discharge causes environmental problems due to inadequate dye bath exhaustion.
Our cationic cotton treatment allows cotton to be dyed without salt or soda ash at low temperatures. This treatment allows you to target a specific amount of dye stuff for your garments. The dye cycle time is cut down to a fraction of normal. Also less dye stuff is needed since almost all the dye goes onto the fiber and does not have to go down the drain. Costs are reduced due to less dye, less chemicals, shorter dye cycles and lower dyeing temperatures.
Unique styling opportunities will be realized since only the cationic cotton portion of the garment will absorb dye.
